A few things you might be wondering before you step inside our King Street hidden gem.

The Dress Collective

What makes The Dress Collective different from a traditional bridal boutique?
We like to think of The Dress Collective as bridal, reimagined. Rather than overwhelming you with hundreds of gowns, our collection is intentionally curated. From incredible designer gowns within our Revival Edit to select made-to-order and one-of-a-kind pieces, everything in our King Street space has been chosen with intention. Our appointments are intimate, personal, and designed around helping you discover the right dress—not simply trying on as many as possible.

Where are you located?
We’re tucked away on iconic King Street in the heart of downtown Charleston, South Carolina. Consider us a bit of a bridal hidden gem—steps away from everything downtown Charleston has to offer, but with an intimate, private feel once you step inside. 474 King Street, Second Story.

Do I need an appointment?
Yes. The Dress Collective is primarily appointment-led so we can give each bride the personal experience she deserves. Keeping our appointments intimate also allows us to thoughtfully curate gowns for you before you arrive.

What is the Revival Edit?
The Revival Edit is our elevated approach to gowns with a story. It includes thoughtfully selected designer samples, once-worn gowns, and exceptional pieces ready for their next moment. We don't believe a beautiful gown loses its value simply because it has been loved, tried on, or previously part of another collection. Sometimes it simply needs the right bride.

Are all of your dresses pre-owned?
No. Our collection is intentionally a mix. Alongside the Revival Edit, we offer select new and made-to-order gowns, including designs from our exclusive London-based designer, Mara Marie Bridal. The beauty of The Dress Collective is that you never quite know what incredible piece you may discover.

Shopping With Us

What designers do you carry?
Our inventory is constantly evolving, which is part of the fun. The Revival Edit has featured gowns from designers including BERTA, Galia Lahav, Sareh Nouri, Ines Di Santo, Reem Acra, Amsale, Romona Keveza, Rita Vinieris and more, alongside our made-to-order collection from Mara Marie Bridal. Because many gowns are one-of-one, availability can change quickly.

Can I take my dress home the same day?
For many of our gowns, yes! A large portion of the Revival Edit is available off the rack, meaning you can say yes and leave with your gown rather than waiting months for it to arrive. Made-to-order gowns will follow their individual production timelines.

What sizes do you carry?
Our collection varies in size because many of our gowns are individual pieces. If you're wondering whether we currently have options that may work for you, reach out before booking—we're always happy to help guide you.

What price range are your gowns?
Our collection spans a range of price points depending on the designer, condition, and whether the gown is from the Revival Edit or made-to-order. We believe luxury bridal can take many forms and are happy to help you understand what is currently available within your preferred investment before your appointment. Our Revival Edit gowns typically will start around $2500 and our made to order starts at $3000.

How many people can I bring to my appointment?
Our space and experience are intentionally intimate. We recommend bringing the few people whose opinions truly matter to you. A smaller group allows the appointment to stay focused on you—and trust us, sometimes fewer opinions make for a much better bridal experience.

What should I wear to my appointment?
Nude or seamless undergarments are helpful, but don't overthink it. Bring any shoes, shapewear, heirloom pieces, or accessories you'd specifically like to envision with your gown. Most importantly, come ready to have fun.

What if I find my dress at my first appointment?
We hope you do! There is no rule saying you need to visit five bridal stores before you're allowed to know. Sometimes when it's right, it's right. And because many of our gowns are one-of-one, we always encourage brides not to walk away from a dress they love simply because they feel like they're “supposed” to keep shopping.

The Dresses

Are Revival Edit gowns in good condition?
Every gown is carefully considered before becoming part of The Revival Edit. Because these may include samples or previously loved pieces, condition varies and will always be taken into consideration when a gown is accepted and priced. We believe pre-loved bridal can still feel every bit as elevated and special.

Can off-the-rack gowns be altered?
Absolutely. Just like a traditionally ordered wedding gown, most off-the-rack gowns will require alterations to achieve the perfect fit. We can help point you toward trusted alteration professionals.

Can I purchase a gown I see on Instagram?
If it's still available! Because many pieces are one-of-one, we recommend reaching out when something catches your eye rather than waiting for your appointment.

Do you offer little white dresses and non-gown bridal looks?
Yes. Our collection extends beyond the wedding gown with select little white dresses and pieces perfect for engagement parties, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, receptions, courthouse ceremonies, getaway looks—and even occasions beyond bridal.

Selling or Consigning a Dress

Can I consign my wedding dress with The Dress Collective?
Possibly! We selectively accept wedding gowns and occasion pieces that align with our Revival Edit. Our approach to consignment is intentionally curated—we want every accepted piece to feel like it belongs within The Dress Collective experience.

Do you accept bridal boutique samples?
Yes. We love partnering with bridal boutiques and industry partners to give exceptional sample gowns another opportunity to be discovered rather than allowing beautiful inventory to sit unseen.

How do I submit a gown for consideration?
Start by submitting information about your gown through our website, including the designer, style, size, original retail price, condition, purchase date and photos. We'll review it and let you know if we think it could be a good fit for The Revival Edit.

A Few More Things...

Do you offer private events or experiences?
Yes! The Dress Collective was created to be more than a place to shop for a wedding gown. Our King Street space and Glam Room can host select bridal experiences, getting-ready moments, beauty appointments, content sessions and private gatherings. Reach out to learn what's currently available.

Do you work with brides visiting Charleston?
Absolutely. In fact, we love being part of a Charleston bridal weekend. If you're visiting the city for wedding planning, a girls' weekend, bachelorette trip, or simply want to make finding your dress part of your time downtown, we'd love to welcome you.

What if I'm not a traditional bride?
Even better. The Dress Collective was built around the idea that bridal doesn't have to follow a formula. Whether you're looking for couture, understated, vintage-inspired, unexpected, pre-loved, made-to-order—or you're not entirely sure yet—our job is to help you find something that feels like you.

Still have a question?
Reach out. We're a small, founder-led business, which means there's an actual person on the other side. We'd much rather help you personally than have a question keep you from coming through our doors.
